What is an update client?

An update client is a computer application or a feature in your router that keeps your hostname's IP address up-to-date with your registered domain name. Your IP address sometimes changes IP address (monthly, weekly, or even daily) without your notice, and this may cause all sorts of issues for client's using the domain name linked to a certain IP address.
